The center has psychologists on staff who work on well-being, behavior, and social challenges. You’ll gain insight into how conversations, observation, and educational strategies are used to support the young people emotionally—and how this interacts with the physical and practical aspects of the work.
-
At your internship site, you will participate in physical therapy sessions alongside children and adolescents with various challenges. The exercises are led by physical therapists and take place in close collaboration, where you will observe and assist—always under the guidance of the regular staff.
-
Activities involving games, colors, and shapes are actively used to improve concentration, coordination, and independence. As a participant, you’ll have the opportunity to see how play, learning, and care come together in the work of promoting development and well-being. It is the combination of physical therapy and psychomotor therapy that defines the occupational therapist’s role.
-
Once a week, a doctor visits the clinic, giving participants the chance to observe and gain insight into the medical side of the work. Here, the children are examined and treated by a doctor. For young people considering a career in medicine, this offers an exciting opportunity to experience the work up close—and gain relevant experience, including in relation to Quota 2.

Once a week, a doctor visits the clinic, where participants can observe and gain insight into the medical aspects of the work. Here, the children are examined and treated, and at times a volunteer nurse is also on hand at the center. For young people considering a career in nursing, this offers a great opportunity to experience the work firsthand and gain relevant experience working with children and young people with disabilities.
-
The center also employs psychomotor therapists who work at the intersection of the body and the mind. Here, movement, body awareness, and sensory training are combined with elements from both physical therapy and occupational therapy. This provides an exciting insight into how children’s psychological well-being and physical development are closely linked.

In the exercise room, we work on everything from walking exercises to balance and fitness. The activities are tailored to each individual, and you’ll have the opportunity to participate in both the planning and the hands-on work related to movement and function.

The Clinic
Local and nonprofit collaboration
You will become part of a recognized, state-subsidized nonprofit organization in Agadir that works with children and young people with disabilities. Here, you will join a multidisciplinary team consisting of physical therapists, psychologists, occupational therapists, audiologists, and other healthcare professionals who together create the framework for rehabilitation, inclusion, and well-being.
The organization operates on an evidence-based approach and is supported by the Moroccan government, ensuring quality and clear professional guidelines. The goal is to create lasting positive change locally—while you gain concrete experience within your healthcare field.
Your daily work takes place in a real-world workplace. You are there to learn and observe—not to assume responsibility for treatment. Professional responsibility always lies with the staff, and your role is clearly defined.
You’ll gain insight into various disciplines that work closely together with children and youth. Some days are busy, others quiet. There may be waiting times, repetitive tasks, and children who need extra support. This is a natural part of the work and an important part of understanding the field.
The primary languages are Arabic and French. Some speak English, but not everyone. Therefore, body language, observation, and simple explanations become part of everyday life. It requires patience—and gives you concrete experience working in a different cultural and linguistic context.
In short: You’ll gain a realistic insight into working life and an experience that goes far beyond what you can learn from books.
This is where you should stay
You’ll stay in a bright, modern home on a hilltop with views of the ocean, the mountains, and the city. Here, you’ll live with other young people from Praktikrejsen, and daily life will quickly be shaped by a strong sense of community, where you’ll share meals, experiences, and relaxed evenings together. There’s always someone to go to the beach with, or to a café, or out to explore the area.
The staff takes care of cleaning and helps with practical matters such as transportation, planning trips, and offering local tips. The residence is located in Tamraght, between Agadir and the Taghazout surf area, just a few minutes’ walk from the beach as well as small cafés and shops. This provides you with a peaceful and social base where it’s easy to hang out with the other young people while exploring both the ocean and the town.
The destination
Agadir, Morocco
Morocco offers hospitality, warm temperatures year-round, and a culture that blends tradition with modernity.
The area north of Agadir, around Tamraght and Taghazout, is peaceful yet vibrant—filled with local and international young people, surf culture, yoga, and small workshops. Here you can experience Moroccan crafts, colorful markets, local eateries, horseback rides along the beach, and waves almost every day—for both beginners and experienced surfers.
The rhythms of Islam shape social life, and it’s common to be invited home for tea or a meal, even without prior acquaintance.
The coastal towns blend the local and the international, the modern and the traditional, creating a safe and welcoming environment for professional development, internships, or new experiences—close to Europe, yet with a completely different daily life.
